Free Community Events Include The Princess Festival, a Fitness Series, Family Nights, Live Music and More
OREM, Utah (June 4, 2018) – University Place, a 112-acre mixed-use development project formerly known as University Mall, today announced its lineup of free community events running through the summer. These events are open to the public and will be held at The Orchard, University Place’s outdoor gathering space.
This year’s events include:
- Orem Summerfest Storytelling
June 4, 2018
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Orem Summerfest is the unofficial start of summer for the city, and for the second year in row the festival is kicking things off at University Place with its storytelling event. Please bring a blanket or camp chair and come enjoy listening to Sam Payne, storyteller and musician, along with Chad Lewis, BYU Associate Athletic Director and former NFL player. - Saturday in the Park
June 16, July 14 and August 11, 2018
5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
New this year, Saturday in the Park offers families a chance to have a relaxing evening in the park. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets and chairs and come to enjoy snacks, live music and yard games. - Family Fun Nights
June 18, July 16 and August 13, 2018
7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
These themed nights give families an opportunity to spend time together and have fun. - Clog America – American Folk Dance Show
July 3, 2018
7:30 p.m.
Now in its 27th year, Clog America has become America’s premier folk dance ensemble, and will be performing a show that tells the story of America’s folk dance history. Admission is free, and viewing space in the park is on a first-come first-serve basis. - Pioneer Day Festivities
July 24, 2018
6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
The community is invited to celebrate Utah’s heritage with live music, giveaways, a pie eating contest, vendors and much more. The evening will culminate in a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to music. - The Princess Festival
July 31 – August 4 2018
Being a Princess is more than glitter and ribbons – a true Princess knows how to make a difference in the world by using courage, compassion, and grace. The Princess Festival is an event where little girls have the opportunity to meet, play with, and help the Princesses of Everley in an interactive setting. Join our Princesses on a journey through their own life adventures as they learn magic and love and discover the Princess within. - Feliz Dias
August 17-18, 2018
10: 00 a.m. – 10:00 p.m.
This festival celebrating Latin culture will feature food, craft vendors and various performances. There will also be a dance party on Friday night set to fun Latin music. - Fitness Series
Wednesdays
7:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Every Wednesday through September the community can get moving with a variety of free fitness classes, from aerobics to Pilates to Zumba and more. - Utah Brazilian Festival
September 15, 2018
1:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Brought to you by Viva Brazil Cultural Center, a non-profit organization, and Tucano’s Brazilian Grill, the Utah Brazilian Festival will kick-off with the Samba Carnival Parade. This is a family friendly event with entertainment, dancing and Brazilian cuisine.
