It doesn’t matter which of the four Interstate 15 exits you take into Orem, the minute you leave the freeway it’s apparent you are entering a city of growth and change.
Orem is a conglomeration of retail and office corridors with internal neighborhoods, parks, schools and churches. It has multiple recreation facilities, and is also a cultural arts and theater hub of Utah County.
Businesses want to come to the city, and according to Ryan Clark, manager of economic development, the requests are often hard to fill.
“The challenge is to find space for people right now,” Clark said. “Our inventory is reduced.”
While the inventory is reduced, with the naked eye it looks like the city still has some room to grow. That is exactly what Clark says it’s doing.
Perhaps the biggest center of growth and change, and the most noticeable, is University Place, formerly University Mall.
