July 22, 2025 SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Some call it the second Fourth of July; others know it as “Pie and Beer Day,” but whatever your opinion may be, Utahns can agree that the state goes all out to celebrate its pioneer history. Check out ABC4’s full list of Pioneer Day celebrations across the Beehive State.
Because Pioneer Day is on a Thursday this year, some events will take place on the weekend. This list will be updated with more events as they are announced. If you know about any celebrations that aren’t on this list, send us a tip. Counties are organized alphabetically.Where you can (and can’t) light fireworks to celebrate Pioneer Day in Utah
Beaver County
Beaver City: The Beaver Pioneer Day celebration is a must-see event if you live in or are passing through the area on July 24! The rodeo starts on July 23 at 7 p.m., and continues on Pioneer Day at the same time. A 5K run, a parade, a car show, and more can be enjoyed to celebrate Utah. The big event will end with fireworks at 9:45 p.m. at the Tushar 4-Plex (826 E 600 N).
Box Elder County
Corinne: Golden Spike National Historical Park (6200 N 22300 W) in Corinne will be celebrating Pioneer Day with a locomotive demonstration and pioneer games. The event will run between 10 a.m., when the Jupiter and No. 119 arrive, and conclude at 4:30 p.m. when it leaves. The Park Historian will provide a presentation, and children can play pioneer games during the event.
Tremonton: The Tremonton City Hay Days take place on Pioneer Day weekend this year, and celebrate the city’s founding and agricultural history. A full agenda can be found on Tremonton’s website. Some notable events include the “Rodeo Olympics” at 7 p.m. and home run derby at 8 p.m. on Friday, July 25. On Saturday, a full day of events is planned, concluding with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. at Jeanie Stevens Park (700 N 1000 W).
Cache County
Logan: To join the Pioneer Day festivities in Logan, plan to get up early. Registration for the fun run starts at 7 a.m., followed by various sports tournaments and pioneer-themed crafts and games. A parade will start at 10 a.m., and an evening of live music will be capped off with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. at Willow Park (450 W 700 S).
Mendon: Although Mendon City might be small, it goes all out when celebrating Pioneer Day. The festivities began on Monday, and several events are planned every day, including on Pioneer Day. The events you don’t want to miss take place on Saturday, July 26: a fun run, flag ceremony, tournaments, and ball games. The night will end with a fireworks show after the ball games conclude.
Newton: The Newton Town Celebration takes place on Pioneer Day weekend, with events on Friday and Saturday. Friday, July 25, will feature fundraisers, free ice cream, and fireworks at 0:45 p.m. Saturday, celebrators can look forward to a run, breakfast, flag ceremony, and more. North Logan: The Pioneer Day celebration in North Logan is planning to impress with a full schedule on July 24. A 5k run will start at 7 a.m., followed by a pickleball tournament and breakfast. There will also be a parade, pioneer games, bike racing, and a movie in the park. The evening will come to a close with a fireworks show at 10 p.m. at Elk Ridge Park (1190 E 2500 N).
Richmond: A Pioneer Day celebration and dinner will be happening in Richmond, headlined by Alex Sharpe, Glenn Rawson, and the American Legacy Dancers. Gates open at 5 p.m., and attendees can enjoy scenic lift rides, a pioneer dinner, and stories and music to celebrate Utah’s pioneer history. This is a ticketed event.
Carbon County
Price: The Price International Days are taking place between Pioneer Day and July 26 this year. A full list of events can be found on Price’s website. Each day will feature a variety of activities, including concerts, parades, vendors, car shows, carnivals, and more. On Saturday, July 26, a drone show will take place at Pioneer Park (55 500 N) at 9 p.m.
Daggett County
Dutch John: According to the Dagget County July newsletter, there will be a Pioneer Day celebration at Red Canyon Lodge (2450 Red Canyon Road) on the 24th. Details are limited online, but those interested can contact Flaming Gorge for more information.
Davis County
Bountiful: The largest Pioneer Day celebration in Davis County is probably Bountiful’s Handcart Days. On Friday, July 25, attendees can enjoy activities at Bountiful City Park alongside a free concert from Roy Rivers. Saturday, get up early for the Handcart Days Race, followed by what they call the second largest parade in Utah. Pioneer Day games and activities will return to the park, concluding with a 10 p.m. fireworks show at Mueller Park Junior High (955 E 1800 S).
Kaysville: Instead of a big celebration, Kaysville City is hosting a Pioneer Day fundraiser to support local youth sports. The city is partnering with Bowmna’s Grocery and serving a fundraiser breakfast to raise funds for local recreational sports.
Layton: In Layton, attendees can celebrate Pioneer Day on July 24 with a day full of events and a parade. The morning starts at 10 a.m. with the Pioneer Day Jubilee at the Heritage Museum, where participants can learn about pioneer history and games. A food truck rally and open swim follow. At 7 p.m., live country music from Riders in the Sky will play, leading into the electric light parade at 10 p.m.
Duchesne County
Altamont: The Altamont Longhorn Days take place over Pioneer Day and started on July 15, a week before the holiday. Events are planned all week long, but the big celebration will take place on Saturday, July 26. There will be a parade, car show, auction, live music, and fireworks at the City Park after dark. Following the fireworks, a dance will go on until 11:30 p.m.
Emery County
Castle Dale: The Cowboys Memorial Rodeo takes place on Pioneer Day weekend in Castle Dale. The rodeo begins every night at 7:30 p.m., and a free concert will take place on Saturday night to conclude the rodeo.
Emery: This Utah town is celebrating Pioneer Day with the theme “Together We Shine.” Softball tournaments will take place on Pioneer Day, followed by an ATV/UTV poker ride, 5k run, and drive-in movie. The big events will happen on Saturday, with a flag-raising ceremony, parade, raffle, and fireworks at dark.
Garfield County
Bryce Canyon City: To celebrate Pioneer Day in Bryce Canyon City, they recommend you check out the Bryce Canyon Country Jackpot Rodeo, which takes place on July 26 at 7 p.m. Bryce Canyon City is hosting a fireworks show following the event at 10 p.m.
Hatch: The Hatch Pioneer Day Celebration takes place on July 24, and starts with a 6 a.m. fun run. Attendees can then enjoy a flag-raising ceremony, a parade, and kids’ activities at the park, and a service project for the adults.
Panguitch: “Faith in Every Footstep” is Panguitch’s Pioneer Day theme for their July 26 celebration. On Saturday, attendees can enjoy a fundraiser breakfast followed by a parade. At 12:30 p.m., there will be a fireman’s lunch. The evening will wrap up with the Panguitch Invitational Rodeo Finals at 6 p.m.
Grand County
Moab: The Moab Museum will be hosting an ice cream social and pie contest on Pioneer Day. Participants can show up between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. to enjoy ice cream, live music, lawn games, and the museum’s first annual pie contest.
Iron County
Brian Head: Pioneer Day weekend is Brian Head Town’s 50th anniversary celebration. A full schedule of events can be found on Brian Head’s website, including a car show, fishing derby, live music, 5k, and more. A fireworks display will take place on Pioneer Day around 9:30 p.m., and a drone show will happen at the same time on July 26.
Cedar City: The Cedar City Pioneer Day celebration is between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at the Cedar City Main Street Park (200 N Main Street). The event is free, and attendees can enjoy rides, food vendors, face painting, games, and more.
Enoch: The Pioneer Day celebration in Enoch features a 5k run at 7 a.m., followed by a 10 a.m. parade. Participants can then enjoy live music, games, activities, and booths at 451 E Midvalley Road. Lunch will be served as well.
Paragonah: In Paragonah, residents celebrate Pioneer Day with a children’s parade at 10 a.m., followed by a program at the Paragonah Church Cultural Hall and an 11 a.m. pie auction. After the auction, everyone is invited to celebrate with a luncheon and games at the church’s pavilion.
Juab County
Levan: The Levan Heritage Celebration takes place on Pioneer Day and promises a day packed full of events. The morning kicks off with a fun run and flag ceremony, followed by a parade, car show, and bake sale. Children can enjoy face painting and bounce houses while adults try their hand at a pie-eating contest and bingo. A 9 p.m. dance party will lead into a fireworks show at 10 p.m.
Mona: The Mona City Celebration happens over Pioneer Day weekend, starting on July 25. On Friday, participants can celebrate with a dinner, a quick ball tournament, a bingo night, and a silent disco. Saturday kicks off with a 10 a.m. parade followed by live entertainment, food trucks, bounce houses, and more. Kane County
Kanab: The Kane County Water Conservancy District brings an annual Pioneer Day celebration by firing off fireworks over Jackson Flat Reservoir. The fireworks will go off after dark and are best viewed from Kaneplex Drive in Kanab.
Millard County
Hinckley: The Hinckley Pioneer Days Celebration takes place on Friday and Saturday, July 25 and 26. The junior rodeo is set for Friday, followed by the Rocky Mountain Professional Rodeo Association rodeo. A street dance will take place after the rodeo concludes. Saturday, there will be a morning salute at 6 a.m., followed by breakfast, a parade, pioneer program, and live music and games at the park. The rodeo will continue, followed by another late-night street dance.
Scipio: On Saturday, July 26, Scipio is hosting a Pioneer Day Celebration with an 11 a.m. parade followed by water games and live music. The night will end with the Round Valley Rodeo at 8 p.m. It will include events like mutton busting, a hide race, donkey roping, and more.
Morgan County
Morgan City: The Morgan County Fair calls itself the Biggest Little Fair in Utah. It starts on Pioneer Day weekend, July 26, and runs until Aug. 2. The fair features dozens of events throughout its duration, with a full schedule available here. The main attraction will be the rodeo.
Piute County
Marysvale: The Marysvale Town Biggest Little Rodeo in the World is a Pioneer Day tradition, featuring kids’ games at the park, followed by a hometown parade, leading into the main rodeo at 1 p.m. There will also be a fish rodeo after the main rodeo concludes.
Rich County
Garden City: On July 26, there will be a Pioneer Day fireworks show in Garden City at the Ideal Beach Resort (2176 S Bear Lake Boulevard). The event has free admission, with music, games, and giveaways beginning at 8:30 p.m. The fireworks show will start after dark, and attendees can tune into 88.5 on the radio for an accompanying broadcast.
Salt Lake County
Cottonwood Heights: Butlerville Days in Cottonwood Heights starts on Pioneer Day and runs through Saturday, July 26. The celebration features a parade, vendors, carnival, inflatables, pickleball tournament, car show, and more. A full schedule of events can be found here. A drone show and fireworks show are both scheduled, with drones on Friday at 10 p.m. and fireworks on Saturday at 10 p.m.
Millcreek: On Pioneer Day, Millcreek Common will be hosting a pie and (root) beer day. Between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., anyone is welcome to get free pie and root beer floats while recreating at the venue.
Salt Lake City: There are several events taking place in Salt Lake City for Pioneer Day. The largest is likely the Days of ’47 rodeo.
- Days of ’47 Rodeo: The Days of ’47 Rodeo starts July 22 and runs until July 26. Every night of the rodeo celebrating pioneers will feature a fireworks and drone show at 10:30 p.m., according to their online schedule. Live music will also play. Events like steer wrestling, team roping, barrel racing, and more will be taking place.
- Days of ’47 Parade: The Days of ’47 Parade starts at South Temple and State Street in Salt Lake City at 9 a.m. Attendees can look forward to colorful floats, horse-drawn wagons, clowns, bands, and more.
- This is the Place: This is the Place Heritage Park will be hosting a Pioneer Day celebration to educate about the history of Utah’s pioneers. The event runs between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m., and will have a handcart parade, watermelon eating contest, flag ceremony, and Mormon Battalion Encampment.
- Drone Show: Salt Lake City is hosting a Pioneer Day Drone Show at 10 p.m. on the holiday. Attendees will get the best view from Liberty Park.
- Pie and Beer Day: The Ballpark neighborhood in Salt Lake City will be hosting its 12th Annual Pie and Beer Day between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. Over 2,000 slices of pie will be served, each paired with a local beer. The event partners with 20 local breweries and 20 local bakeries/restaurants.
San Juan County
Monticello: Monticello Pioneer Days takes place on Pioneer Day weekend, July 25 and 26. On Friday, July 25, there will be a pickleball tournament and several competitions, ending with a showing of Sandlot at the park. Saturday will kick off with a Pioneer Day 5k, breakfast, and parade. Fireworks will take place at dark at the ballfields.
Sanpete County
Fairview: The Pioneer Day Celebration in Fairview starts with a firemen’s wake-up at 6 a.m., followed by a 5k run, “scrambalooza,” breakfast, and parades. After the parades, there will be a car show and kids’ games. There will also be a rodeo on July 24 and 25.
Spring City: The Spring City Pioneer Days celebration kicks off with a fireman’s breakfast and 5k run. A parade, party at the park, and games follow. Sevier County
Monroe: The Monroe Pioneer Day Celebration starts with a boom, featuring a cannonade at 6 a.m. A few fun runs will follow, happening during breakfast. A flag ceremony and parade will lead into fun events commemorating Utah’s pioneer history. At 7 p.m., there will be a concert that leads into the 9:30 p.m. fireworks show.
Redmond: On July 23, Redmond’s 24th Celebration will kick off with a patriotic program at 5:30 p.m., followed by a barbecue, live music, and fireworks at dark. Pioneer Day will feature a 10 a.m. parade and a celebration at the park. A cardboard boat regatta will take place at 1 p.m., leading into bingo and a road rally.
Summit County
Kamas: The Kamas Valley Fiesta Days are taking place over Pioneer Day this year, between July 19 and 26. On Pioneer Day, there will be a kids’ day between 12 p.m. and 4 p.m. at Kamas City Park, at the same time as the open house at the Daughters of the Utah Pioneer Cabin. A Pioneer Day Program will take place at 4 p.m., followed by another day of the Ranch Rodeo. Fireworks and a concert will take place on July 25 at dark.
Tooele County
Tooele City: The Tooele Pioneer Complex will be hosting a morning at the museum to celebrate Pioneer Day. On July 25, between 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m., visitors can learn about pioneers through this event.
Uintah County
Naples: Summerfest in Naples takes place on Pioneer Day, starting at 11 a.m. The event features free bounce houses, free admission at the splash park, live music, local food trucks, and more. Fireworks will cap off the night at 10 p.m. at the Naples City Park (1803 1900 S).
Utah County
American Fork: The Daughters of Utah Pioneers are hosting a Pioneer Day event between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on the holiday. Participants can play pioneer games, try pulling a handcart, and learn more about the on-site historical cabins at Robinson Park (100 E Main St).
Cedar Fort: The 24th of July Celebration in Cedar Fort starts the weekend before, with a fun run, cornhole tournament, concert, and waterfight leading up to the holiday. On Pioneer Day, there will be a parade at 11 a.m., followed by a carnival and the Cedar Valley Rodeo.
Fairfield: Camp Floyd State Park in Fairfield is hosting a Pioneer Day event on July 26 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. Visitors can see artifacts and learn about how Utahns lived in the early days at Camp Floyd. Pioneer games and activities will be available, alongside an educational tour.
Orem: University Place in Orem is hosting a Pioneer Day market and setting off fireworks to celebrate. There will be a dance party for kids, local vendors, and a fireworks show at dark to cap off the evening. The event runs between 5 p.m. and 9:50 p.m. on Pioneer Day.
Provo: Provo’s Pioneer Day Extravaganza is between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at North Park. There will be live music, pie-eating and root beer-chugging competitions, races, and more. Local vendors and a petting zoo will also be at the park.
Spanish Fork: The Spanish Fork Fiesta Days lasts the full week of Pioneer Day, featuring a carnival, rodeo, and nightly entertainment. On Pioneer Day itself, there will be a grand parade, duck race, and a concert that leads into the 10 p.m. fireworks spectacular put on by the city.
Wasatch County
Heber City: The Wasatch County Fair Days start on Pioneer Day, featuring a demolition derby at 7 p.m. at the Wasatch County Fairgrounds (415 S Field Road). The demolition derby will continue over the weekend, and the carnival starts on Monday.
Washington County
Enterprise: The Enterprise Rodeo is an amateur rodeo that takes place every year around Pioneer Day. The rodeo lasts three days and starts on July 24 this year. It promises bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, and team roping. There will also be live music throughout the event.
La Verkin: The La Verkin Founders Day Celebration kicks off with an 8 a.m. parade on Pioneer Day, followed by a pancake breakfast and pioneer presentation. The afternoon will be filled with games, races, and activities at Wanlass Park.
Toquerville: The Toquerville Pioneer Day Celebration is between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Center Street Park (425 W Center Street). Details about the event online are limited, but the city promises an “evening of fun” while honoring pioneer heritage.
Washington City: Pioneer Day in Washington City will start with a 7 a.m. breakfast, followed by a parade at 8 a.m. The celebration will continue at Veterans Park with children’s games and an open swim at the local swimming pool. Finally, around 10 p.m., there will be a fireworks display.
Wayne County
Bicknell: Bicknell Town’s Summer Celebration is on July 26, just after Pioneer Day. It starts with a 7 a.m. 5k race. The rest of the day is clear until the evening, when a magic show will lead into dinner and live music at Bicknell Town Park.
Lyman: On Saturday, July 26, there will be a Pioneer Day celebration in Lyman. A race will start at 7 a.m., leading into a parade at 10 a.m. A barbecue lunch will take place at Historic Fort Bridger — with free entry to the site — followed by pioneer games and historic demonstrations.
Weber County
Ogden: The largest Pioneer Day celebration in Utah is Ogden Pioneer Days. This event began at the beginning of July and ends on Pioneer Day. The holiday wraps up the event by hosting a grand parade, celebrating Pioneer Day, crowning Miss Rodeo Utah, and ending the evening with a drone show after the rodeo concludes.
