University Place Announces Lineup of 2019 Summer Events

  • Events are Free to the Public and Will Be Held at The Orchard
  • New Events This Year Include Giant Game Nights and a Summer Luau

OREM, Utah (May 6, 2019) – University Place, a 112-acre mixed-use development project formerly known as University Mall, today released its calendar of community-centric summer activities, which will be held at The Orchard, University Place’s outdoor gathering space.

This year’s schedule includes a mix of returning favorites like the fitness series, the farmer’s market, movie nights, and the car show, as well as several new family-friendly events. Highlights from the lineup include:

  • Giant Game Night in the Orchard
    May 16, 23, 30, and June 6, 20, 27, 2019
    7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    New this year, Giant Game Night in the Orchard offers families a chance to have a relaxing evening outside together playing a variety of giant yard games. During the month of June, these game nights will feature additional interactive games and blow-up toys.
  • Summer Luau Kick Off
    June 1, 2019
    7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
    Also new is the Summer Luau Kick Off in the Orchard. Take a tour of Pacific traditions, play games and enjoy demonstrations from professional performers including Polynesian fire dancers.
  • Orem Summerfest Kick-Off Party
    June 10, 2019
    7:00 p.m.
    Orem Summerfest is the unofficial start of summer for the city, and for the third year in row the festival is kicking things off at University Place with its storytelling event. Bring a blanket or camping chair and come play games, get a free snow cone and listen to popular storyteller Antonio Sacre.
  • The Princess Festival
    June 11-15, 2019
    10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    The Princess Festival is returning for a second year at University Place. The Princess Festival is an event where young girls can meet, play with, and help the Princesses of Everley in an interactive setting.
  • Puppets In The Orchard
    June 29, 2019
    10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
    Join us as we welcome The Utah Puppetry Guild’s presentation of Puppets in The Orchard.  They will be showcasing their puppetry talents with different shows free to the public.
  • Pioneer Day Fireworks
    July 24, 2019
    6:00 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.
    The community is invited to celebrate Utah’s heritage with live music, giveaways, a pie eating contest, vendors and much more. The evening will culminate with a spectacular firework show choreographed to music.
